Keating joined The Knowles Company as a broker in 1988, and then purchased the company with his two business partners in 1994. Keating has vacationed on Mount Desert since he was a young child. After moving to Maine permanantly Keating graduated from the University of Maine in 1972, with a degree in psychology. A licensed captain, he enjoys sailing the coast of Maine on his Hinckley 41. He is a trustee of the Mount Desert Island YMCA and is involved in many activities related to child development on the Island. He resides in Somesville, Maine with his wife, Kim.
