Nick Burnett

Nick has been with The Knowles Company since 2000, starting in the vacation rental department, then becoming a real estate broker in 2005.

His previous work includes diverse roles in real estate-related fields such as the marketing department of a large Boston architectural firm, services coordination for a commercial property investment company in Portland, Maine, and residential development on Mount Desert Island. This range of experience has helped Nick become a well-rounded, resourceful broker. In addition, he has gained a reputation for being a quality, service-oriented broker.

Nick came to Mount Desert Island originally by way of family, being the grandson of the late architect/landscape architect Robert Patterson, whose work has had an influence on Nick’s sense of land use and development. These ties to the area made moving to MDI an easy decision, and he now lives with his wife, who is a long-time local high school teacher, and his two boys in the Patterson house on Somes Harbor.

As a member of the Mount Desert Warrant Committee, the Vincent Astor Committee, and manager/partner of a trust and an LLC created for land development, Nick stays busy when not serving real estate clients. As time allows, he also plays music and occasionally builds furniture.

Nick gets 5 stars

Nick Burnett acted as our agent to sell our Camp on shorefront property on the Union River Bay, Ellsworth, Me. We enjoyed a very satisfactory relationship with him & felt, at all times, he went beyond the expected to help us attract the right buyer. Working with Nick was like working with a trusted friend as well as a highly professional provider . Nick gets 5 staars from us.

Thank you Nick!!

Nick was instrumental in guiding me through the purchase of my first home. From the technical to the more emotional aspects of buying a home, Nick went above and beyond in every instance and I would highly recommend him to any of my friends or family. His response time, attention to detail, and personable approach made me feel at ease and well looked after through the whole experience. Thank you Nick!!

look no further than Nick

I have bought and sold houses three times. The finest realtor I have worked with through all of them was Nick Burnett. Throughout the process it was clear that Nick was working for us. Making extra trips to houses, the records office, reaching out to other realtors and firms to find the best house available for my family. I always recommend Nick to other people moving to the region and he has one of the few five star ratings I have ever given. When we could check on the property, test result, or just a job that needed to get done before we moved Nick always offered to run down the information for us and we came to trust him completely. If trust, hard work and professional knowledge and practice are what you are looking for, look no further than Nick Burnett of The Knowles Company.

I heartily recommend Nick Burnett

Nick Burnett was my agent when I bought my pace a couple of years ago. He was immensely helpful to me. His advice was invaluable, as was his knowledge of the market and the potential problems associate with buying and old farm (built in 1850). I bought the property for my personal use, but with rentals in mind, and he helped me avoid some costly mistakes. He spent a great deal of his own valuable time walking the property and making sure that I understood what I was dealing with, both on paper and on the ground. As a result of his efforts, I am very happy with my home and the experience of purchasing it with Nick’s help. I heartily recommend Nick Burnett as an agent.
