On January 27th the residents of Mount Desert Island, Maine came out in full force to support one of their own. Allen Beaman, husband of Knowles broker Jane McCombs-Beaman, was recently diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL). This is a tough cancer; it is a rare form of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL) and only about 5% of those people diagnosed with NHL have MCL. It mainy affects men over 60 (Allen is 55) and at this time there are roughly 15,000 people in the US with this type of cancer.

The fudraising event took place at The Neighborhood House, who generously donated the space, and included a dinner, music by Frogpipe and The Crown Vics, a large raffle drawing, and plenty of dancing.
The Knowles Company would like to thank AB & JR Hodgkins who co-sponsored the fundraising event. Together with a ton of help from The Beaman Family, several local businesses and individuals, and the very generous residents of MDI, we were able provide the Beamans with some much-needed financial assistance.
