Friday Feature: Harbourside in Northeast Harbor, Maine

Entry porch to Inn
Harbourside, built in 1888, is located on a wooded hillside a few minutes walk from the village of Northeast Harbor. The two buildings on the grounds were designed by famed architect Fred Savage in the Shingle-Style so popular to the Maine coast during the later part of the nineteenth century. With more than 14 bedrooms, all with full baths, the main building has been run as a venerated and beloved inn for over a century. The charm of well-preserved period detail is evident throughout, with fireplaces, alcoves, sitting porches, and beautiful woodwork at every turn.
