Friday Feature: Summersalt in Lamoine, Maine

SSsidewithtreesSited high atop a bluff in a beautiful wooded setting, Summersalt is a light-filled oceanfront home with sweeping views of the Skillings River. Bold granite frontage with a pebble beach at lower tides and a deep water mooring. The contemporary residence is located in the desirable Marlboro section of Lamoine. It enjoys an open-concept floor plan with a large Great Room with cathedral ceilings, a wood stove and abundant windows that fill the room with light and take advantage of the beautiful views. It's a front-row seat to the ever-changing ocean landscape with passing sailboats, lobsterman hauling traps, soaring eagles, and spectacular sunsets. The home has a well-equipped galley kitchen that is open to the Great Room, allowing the chef to interact with guests and enjoy the ocean views. A bedroom and a full bathroom complete the first-floor plan. There are two additional bedrooms, a full bathroom, and an open loft area on the second floor that could be used for an office or sitting area. The home also has three outdoor decks with ocean views, a detached two-bay garage and a storage shed. Rustic stone stairs lead the way through the woods to the ocean below the property. The well-landscaped grounds are surrounded by mature trees, offering plenty of privacy. Summersalt is located on an estate-worthy private road, shared by only two other homes. This wonderful property is off-the-beaten bath but is convenient to Ellsworth, Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
