Step out on foot to explore the many shops, restaurants, events and excursions happening right in downtown Bar Harbor or rent a bike from one of the nearby shops and cycle into Acadia National Park via the beautiful carriage roads. Paul Cottage offers a welcoming haven after a long day of enjoying the park and all the Bar Harbor has to offer.
FIRST FLOOR: Comfortable Living Room, cozy Den with Cable TV, and an eat-in Kitchen with dining table for a six-person gathering offers counter space for up to two. Half bath off kitchen.
SECOND FLOOR: Four Bedrooms offer two Queen beds, one set of Twins and one Single sharing one Full Bathroom with combined tub and shower. A/C window units in 3 larger bedrooms.
OUTDOOR SPACES: Covered front porch with furnishings provides for a nice place to sit with a book and a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine before dinner. Lawn space is limited, but the town ball field and playground are just a half mile away and even closer is Bar Harbor's lovely Village Green. The downtown area also offers Agamont Park and Grant Park with their beautiful water and outer Island views.

Bar Harbor's village and surrounding rural residential areas are a popular destination for visitors to Acadia National Park. The town center offers diverse shops, restaurants and activities. Acadia National Park's Hulls Cove entrance, as well as other major entrances, are located just outside the village center. Not all properties listed as 'Bar Harbor' are actually in the village of Bar Harbor, since the town of Bar Harbor encompasses the northern half of Mt. Desert Island, most of which is quite rural in nature. However, homes within this area are usually between five and fifteen minutes' drive to the village center.

We had a great time at the Paul Cottage. It had everything we needed. The location is perfect and accommodations are nice. We’re a family of six.

My husband and I had an enjoyable stay. Of course for 2 people there was plenty of space! All in all it is a comfortable home. For us the highlight is the location of this cottage. It is in the heart of Bar Harbor but you wouldn't know it. That's because it is located on a square that is connected to a side street...so gets very little traffic and includes off street parking. After a day of driving around to see the sights and hiking in Acadia it is nice to be able to park our car in the evening at the cottage and then walk into town for a meal and to look at the shops. Always a delight.

Great rental
We loved our time at Paul Cottage. It was such an easy walk into town. Our kids loved that we could be in downtown Bar Harbor in a matter of minutes. The space was comfortable and clean. We would definitely stay again.

The Paul Cottage was the ideal place for our family. With two young kids, we especially appreciated the short walk to dinner, shopping, and the harbor. The home itself was exceptionally clean and well-appointed, but not too precious (see: two young kids above). The Knowles Company was fantastic to work with - prompt and thorough. We will be back!

Exactly what we expected based on both the pictures and discussion with Lynn. No surprises. We were happy that this was a very clean house, everything was functional and it was well stocked. It is an older, smaller, no-frills house, which we knew that going into it and it exactly met our needs for the right price as we were there basically to sleep each night and were out almost all day every day. We would def keep renting this unit.. till our kids get older and we feel comfortable getting a place near water!

We are a family of 6. We enjoyed that the home is in town as it allowed us walk to the grocery store, Bar Island beach area, shopping, and restaurants. I liked the age of the home and my imagined history that went along with it. We would stay here again!

Great house. Accommodations were perfect for us and a fantastic location. A couple blocks from main street, the grocery store, and best of all - Bar Island Beach area! Older house but has charm. Would definitely stay here again!
