Entering the almost 16-acre property along the long and winding driveway through a forest of old and new growth trees and abundant mosses fern, and lichens, guests are delivered from the hustle and bustle of the village of Bar Harbor, only minutes away, and easily accessible with the four mountain bikes provided, to a tranquil retreat surrounded by nature with spectacular 180-degree views of Egg Rock Light, Thrumcap Island, Schoodic Peninsula and the open ocean. Enjoy the rising sun, passing lobster boats or cruising yachts, or the simple companionship of crashing surf against the rocky bluff below, and remarkable star gazing, from this spectacular offering!

FIRST FLOOR: Light-filled living room with cathedral ceiling and a resident Moose above the mantle. Professional kitchen and dining area with Maine mined slate counters and sitting area with TV offers doors leading to the front cedar deck with propane grill, hot tub, and expansive granite and flagstone patio with picnic tables and ample seating above the ocean. Library/office with doors to deck and ocean views. The first Bedroom in this home is on this main level offering a King bed and semi private travertine-tiled bathroom with shower stall.

SECOND FLOOR: The "Moose" Primary Suite with King bed, walk-in closet and door to balcony enjoys a private Full Bath with soaking tub and separate walk-in shower. An additional "Puffin" Primary suite, almost identical to the first with a King bed, walk-in closet, door to balcony and private Full Bath with soaking tub and separate walk-in shower. Laundry closet with stackable washer and dryer.

THIRD FLOOR: On this level, guests will find this home's fourth and fifth bedrooms offering a total of four Queen beds, each bedroom with its own travertine-tiled Full Bath with shower only and spacious closet. Between the bedrooms is a common area Game Room with Ping-Pong table.

OUTDOOR SPACES: Wraparound, cedar deck and covered porch with hot tub, propane grill, and ample outdoor seating. Large granite/flagstone patio overlooking the ocean with two picnic tables, each fashioned from re-claimed wood scavenged by the homeowner from the shore. From here, one can access a short path to the south that leads to a lovely cobblestone shale beach or, to a homemade driftwood picnic table next to a small seasonal stream and waterfall. To the north, an additional picnic table only steps from the rocky shoreline (to the North). Note that access to other areas of the shoreline is via fairly steep terrain and not recommended. Guests also often fish with two salt-water rods/reels provided. Maine fishing license, available at most town offices, is required.

About this area:

Bar Harbor's village and surrounding rural residential areas are a popular destination for visitors to Acadia National Park. The town center offers diverse shops, restaurants and activities. Acadia National Park's Hulls Cove entrance, as well as other major entrances, are located just outside the village center. Not all properties listed as 'Bar Harbor' are actually in the village of Bar Harbor, since the town of Bar Harbor encompasses the northern half of Mt. Desert Island, most of which is quite rural in nature. However, homes within this area are usually between five and fifteen minutes' drive to the village center.

Bear Creek is perfectly appointed - with breath taking views and trails down to the ocean and a very short drive to the town and park. There is a ton to do on the property - quiet and beautiful.

This is a MAGICAL place. What an incredible setting for enjoying all that Mount Desert Island has to offer. From the incredible stargazing at night, and beautiful sunrises in the morning, to warming up in front of a fire on a rainy day, every moment we spent here has felt like a small bit of paradise.
