Convenience is an added bonus with the start of the Park Loop Road and downtown Bar Harbor being only 6 miles away by car or via the free Island Explorer shuttle, which picks up from the nearby Hadley Point Campground from late June to mid October.

CABIN EAST: Open floor plan with floor to ceiling windows and views of Frenchman Bay and the mainland and islands beyond. Two bedrooms, one with a Queen bed and one with Twin beds each offer a skylight. Small Bathroom with shower stall, no tub. Additional outside shower. Internet and TV for DVDs, but no cable service. About this area:

Bar Harbor's village and surrounding rural residential areas are a popular destination for visitors to Acadia National Park. The town center offers diverse shops, restaurants and activities. Acadia National Park's Hulls Cove entrance, as well as other major entrances, are located just outside the village center. Not all properties listed as 'Bar Harbor' are actually in the village of Bar Harbor, since the town of Bar Harbor encompasses the northern half of Mt. Desert Island, most of which is quite rural in nature. However, homes within this area are usually between five and fifteen minutes' drive to the village center.

family vacation

My family loved staying in the two Bayshore cabins. They are both rustically charming inside, beautiful wide wood plank floors, lots of natural light. Quiet! All you hear is birds, squirrels, and the lobster boats. My kids loved exploring the rocky beach area and collecting stuff. We spent a lot of time sitting on the decks looking at the water, and saw a bald eagle fly by a couple mornings. The bed linens and bathroom towels were very nice, and the kitchen was equipped better than most rentals I've ever used (even without a dishwasher). Location was nice, easy to get to anywhere on the island. Bar Harbor and Acadia are great, and we spent a lot of time hiking and biking, but spending time in the cabins was just as memorable.

Beautiful stay in Maine! Cabins were clean and offered so many amenities. Beautiful views right off the deck every morning! Easy to get to all parts of the island from these cabins.

Very comfortable for our family of seven adults! With the two cabins, we were able to spread out some. The trees between were perfect for our hammocks! We had everything we needed. And great location- we enjoyed both lopes of MDI!

We had a wonderful stay in the East cabin, simply wonderful! Both my husband and I thought to ourselves "We could live here!" The cabin was charming and had all of the comforts of home and then some. We also appreciated and took advantage of the easy access to the water. Acadia has it all - mountains, forest, ocean. [sigh] We would love to vacation here again in the future, but next time for 2 weeks!!!
