Within easy walking distance from your front door, you'll find plenty of shops and restaurants to explore, excursions to take advantage of from the town dock and harbor, and the famous Shore Path for a lovely stroll. And when you're ready to venture beyond the village into Acadia National Park, you'll find many park entrances and a stop for the free Island Explorer Shuttle also within easy reach.

FIRST FLOOR: Living Room with flat-screen, cable TV and comfortable seating. Dining Room with table for six. Well equipped and newly renovated Kitchen. Bathroom with shower.

SECOND FLOOR: Two bedrooms, each with a Queen bed, and a third Bedroom with Twin Bunks share a newly renovated full Bathroom with tub/shower combination.

OUTDOOR SPACES: Enclosed front porch with two rockers and small table and chairs for two overlooks a quiet neighborhood road and a quaint, fenced-in backyard is perfect for grilling. Off-street parking enough for two vehicles.

About this area:

Bar Harbor's village and surrounding rural residential areas are a popular destination for visitors to Acadia National Park. The town center offers diverse shops, restaurants and activities. Acadia National Park's Hulls Cove entrance, as well as other major entrances, are located just outside the village center. Not all properties listed as 'Bar Harbor' are actually in the village of Bar Harbor, since the town of Bar Harbor encompasses the northern half of Mt. Desert Island, most of which is quite rural in nature. However, homes within this area are usually between five and fifteen minutes' drive to the village center.

First Time at This Location

Very quiet location with off street parking. Super fast internet. Great first floor walk in shower. Well equipped kitchen. Better bring your own streaming device as TV is extremely limited. No ESPN, etc. As Senior Citizens, there is no handrail to enter the front porch from a very narrow stair. A real challenge. The banister upstairs is only partial. What you see in the picture is only what's available. A handrail on the opposite wall would be nice. The addition of these accessibility issues would make this a good rental for any age folks. Our rating reflects our concerns.

Note from the Owners: "We share your concerns about the exterior railing, and have petitioned the town to make an exception to their setback rules in order for us to legally install one. As for the interior railing, we will take that into consideration as well! Thanks for pointing it out to us."

We rented this house two years ago and would have been disappointed if we could not have found it available this year. Especially love the location - PRIMO! Not to mention how lovely and comfortable and well supplied it is. Hope we can return next year.

The house was beautiful, updated and exceptionally clean. The rooms were comfortable, not cluttered looking. The kitchen was well equipped. Great water pressure in the showers. We especially enjoyed morning coffee on the front porch. The location was absolutely perfect, a nice quite neighborhood and a short walk to town. We definitely look forward to our next stay at the Central Village house.

Central Village House is a great location for exploring Bar Harbor, convenient walk to shops and restaurants, and easy drive to Acadia & other parts of Mt. Desert Island. The house is very nice, just as described and seen in the photos. It is clean, uncluttered, recently redecorated. We would stay again. :) July 2020

Cute little house. It was a very nice place to stay, with plenty of room for our group (myself, my wife, two kids and my parents). Probably the most conveniently located place I've ever stayed on vacation--a couple minutes walk from the grocery store, Bar Harbor shops, restaurants, the Island Explorer bus, etc. Yet because the house is tucked away from the main thoroughfare of Cottage Street, it was still plenty quiet at night. Fantastic!

Central Village House was the perfect base to explore the island. The house itself was clean, well-appointed and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was absolutely perfect. It is convenient to downtown, yet on a quiet, tucked away, one way street. No hassle to find parking! Just park in the driveway and walk to all the great restaurants and shops downtown. We would give it 10 stars if we could!

Very spacious, well appointed, and comfortable! The location was perfect for walking around town and accessing the park, yet the neighborhood was peaceful and quiet. We loved relaxing on the front porch after a busy day.

This is the most perfect house for a family vacationing in Bar Harbor! The house was immaculate upon arrival. The kitchen and two full bathrooms are completely updated and beautiful! The beds were extremely comfortable and we loved having a driveway to park a vehicle. The streets are lined with cars from outside of the city looking for a parking spot. Because our house was right in the city, we could walk everywhere. All the restaurants, bus stops, attractions and shops are all within walking distance. Because the house is located on a small one way street off of the main road, there was never any busy traffic or noise. It was the quietest, cutest little Street filled with families and wonderful smells of the nearby restaurants. Want to go to the ocean? The famous Sandbar is just two streets away, also an easy walk of 5 minutes. If we decide to come back, we will certainly look into this house again. It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.

It was an amazing house! It was beautiful and immaculately clean. The location was perfect - we could walk anywhere we wanted to in town but we were just a little outside of the busier part. I highly recommend it and wouldn't change a thing!
