Perched high on Ox Hill, the site of this home was once the grounds of the Seal Harbor Tennis Club. A favorite stop for the genteel of Seal Harbor and the Cranberry Islands until 1926, users of the court would hang a blanket along a tall fence - visible as far away as the Cranberries - to let others know the court was in use! About this area:

The village of Seal Harbor has many attributes, including proximity to Northeast and Bar Harbor, a lovely hillside overlooking the quiet harbor and a well-protected public beach. The community abuts Acadia National Park, a significant portion of which was donated by Seal Harbor resident John D. Rockefeller. The Park Loop Road, the Wildwood Riding Stables, historic Jordan Pond House, and the many carriage roads around Day Mountain, Little Long Pond, the Bubbles, and Jordan Pond, are all easily accessible from the village.
